Medek & Schoerner developed its concept for coating optical fibres with ultra-violet hardening inks in close co-operation with companies in the cable industry: the concept has already proved its worth in numerous applications throughout the world. The GFP Series offers an optimal solution to every application, from compact single-line machine for maximum speeds of up to 3.000 m/min all the way through to complete colour coding systems for six fibres.
Equipment from Medek & Schoerner for colour coding optical fibres is noted for its high output, flexible modular design and ease of operation. The company's long experience in the marking and coating of optical fibres is reflected in an outstanding technological system that ensures gentle treatment of the sensitive optical fibres at all stages of processing.
The GFP-UV colouring system comprises a fibre pay-off, colouring and curing units, and a capstan plus take-up unit. Single-line and parallel arrangements with up to six independent fibre lines can be offered. Each model is equipped with Medek & Schoerner M550 high performance UV irradiators with permanent irradiation control and automatic adjustment for the actual curing demand.
This allows optimum curing rates, compensates bulb aging and quartz tube deterioration and does additionally prevent thermal overload conditions for the fibre.
The range of machines is rounded out by an optional ring coding system for speeds of up to 800 m/min, an easily installed add-on unit for tight buffering, as well as rewinding systems and accessories such as an inline proof tester.
